Welcome to the Family!
Hi there, adventure seekers! Welcome to our little corner of the internet, where wanderlust meets family chaos, and dreams of exploring collide with packed lunches and homework battles. I’m Jen, a working mom to two energetic boys (ages 10 and 13), happily married to my biggest supporter (and travel partner-in-crime!), and, yes, an assistant principal at a bustling public school.
Let’s be honest, the idea of turning 40 gave me a serious case of wanderlust. It wasn’t a midlife crisis (okay, maybe a mini one!), but a powerful realization that life is short, the world is huge, and there’s so much more to see and experience than the daily grind. While I’m no expert traveler (and our trips sometimes involve more meltdowns than Michelin stars), I’m passionate about creating memories with my family, stepping outside our comfort zones, and showing my boys that the world truly is their classroom.
This blog is our journey – a collection of mishaps and milestones, triumphs and tantrums, all wrapped up in the glorious mess of family travel. Join us as we navigate crowded airports, discover hidden gems, and (hopefully) learn a thing or two (or ten) along the way.
Now, I won’t sugarcoat it: traveling with kids has its challenges. Lost passports, forgotten snacks, and the ever-present question, “Are we there yet?” are all par for the course. But amidst the chaos, there’s magic. Sharing breathtaking sunsets, learning about the world, and seeing the sparkle in my boys’ eyes as they explore – that’s what it’s all about.
So, whether you’re a seasoned traveler or just dipping your toes into the world of family adventures, grab your passport (and a healthy dose of patience!), and come along for the ride. We may not have all the answers, but we’ve got plenty of enthusiasm and a genuine desire to connect with other adventure-loving families.
So, buckle up, get ready to laugh, and remember: the world is waiting, and it’s never too late to start exploring!
